About Sharing Dance Day

Sharing Dance is a program that started out of Canada’s National Ballet School (Toronto, Canada). The mission of Sharing Dance is to celebrate movement and inspire our community to pursue health and connection through the power of dance!

On October 14, 2017, BSA hosted San Angelo’s first annual Sharing Dance Day in front of the city’s newly renovated City Auditorium.

Our team taught an easy to learn, flash-mob dance to groups throughout out community, including the majority of local elementary schools. A huge block party was thrown in front of city hall, where members of the community joined together to dance along to the official Sharing Dance choreography.

On June 19, 2021, Sharing Dance lit up City Hall Plaza with Light Up The Night, expanding our mission to bring dance to the community by producing San Angelo’s first ever projection-mapped experience to life on the building’s historic facade
Since then, Ballet San Angelo’s Sharing Dance has evolved by leaps and bounds, serving thousands of students across the Concho Valley/

We look forward to continuing to share the joy of dance throughout our community leading up to our next Sharing Dance Day.
